Phonophani - Kreken
Trippy electronic music. This is very good music… It’s kind of like Bibio but more psychedelic and jazzier. And I got it at Amoeba for less than 5 bucks.
Release date: 2010-06-21

Olivia Block - Innocent Passage in the Territorial Sea
Electro-acoustic modern classical music. This is really good synth music… don’t miss it.

New bangers old dude.

Only Now - Indian Unclassical, Vol. 1
From the cover art I thought it’s going to be a stoner / folk metal kind of album, but it’s actually very nice drone / noise. Love it.
Release date: 2021-10-25

Huerco S. - Plonk
At first I didn’t really know what to make of it: is it better than Huerco S.’s last album from six years ago? And then several days went by and during which I’ve been listening to this album and could not decide whether I like it or not. Now one third into the month I think I actually like it, it is less ambient leaning and more club friendly, but still you probably can’t really imagine someone dancing to this.

o` - Moment Mist Glass Mayflower
Crystalline ambient / techno. I really like stuff like this, if only this is longer…
Release date: 2021-04-20

Abul Mogard - In a Few Places Along the River
One day I was chilling on the couch, and wanted to play his earlier stuff on YouTube and just stare at the sky turn from bright to navy blue. But then whenever a song ends the UberEat commercial always popped up, so it’s not exactly the most satisfying experience…
Release date: 2022-02-01

Hajj - Drag Me Into The Void
This is much better than the Antidawn EP
from Burial earlier this year IMO…
Release date: 2022-03-11

Hypnogogic pop / bedroom indietronica. FFO Dean Blunt.

Krallice, Dave Edwardson - Loüm
This one has a lot of melodic passages, which I like a lot. The last track is something I think I’ll learn when I have time.
Release date: 2017-10-27

caroline - caroline
Indie-folk. It’s kind of like Ian William Craig doing midewest emo, if you can imagine that.
Release date: 2022-02-25

Misantrop - Reproaching the Absurd
Wonky noise / techno. Or when club music goes horribly wrong, when everyone’s left the venue and it’s only the things not from this world that are on the floor.
Release date: 2021-06-24
At times it is a bit too abrasive though, I dig the atmosphere but this is not something you’d want to put on repeat.

Tomu DJ - FEMINISTA
It’s like The Field’s Cupid's Head
but even more organic and vibe-y.
Release date: 2021-08-06

When a club musician decides to use exclusively new-age sound textures in an album.

Brain Eno: “Duane Eddy playing Erik Satie”. I think of Roy Montgomery plus Bill Frisell.

Societe Etrange - Chance
Kind of sounds like Mong Tong.
Release date: 2022-03-25

Big Brave - Vital
Doom metal. Like the first track, but as it approaches the end of the album it gets more dragging.
Release date: 2021-04-23

Loscil - The Sails, Pt. 1
Pulsating ambient.
Release date: 2022-03-01

Charli XCX - Crash
- I’ve never seen the Cronenberg movie nor the Ballard novel.
- This is still a decent pop album, but it’s more conventional compared to her last two albums.
Release date: 2022-03-18
[7.5/10]
OKnice - Have You Tried Being Happy?
Underground rap. The lyrics are as honest as it gets.
Release date: 2022-03-01

Beats Unlimited - Beats Unlimited
Microhouse / dub techno. Not exactly a bad album but also not something that leaves a lot of impression on me.
Release date: 2021-07-30
[7.1/10]
Rerekat - Balance Through Imbalance
Dancefloor friendly, hardhitting techno. But not really something that I enjoy all that much.
Release date: 2021-09-30

Vein.fm - This World is Going to Ruin You
Nu metal / metalcore. Flesh Juicer could become something like this but they went for the cheesier way instead.

Deathspell Omega - The Long Defeat
The most recent band to decide to dabble in dad rock territory is Deathspell Omega, who would’ve thought.
